(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist) Patna: Thieves got lakhs of rupees, gold and platinum jewelry worth one crore and one thousand US dollars from the house of Captain Rakesh Kumar of Merchant Navy, house number B-61/62 of Jayaprakash Nagar (Shastri Nagar police station area). Family members were sleeping at the time of the incident. Family members say that before the crime was carried out, the thieves had sprayed something on them to make them unconscious, due to which no member of the house woke up.
When the Captain’s wife woke up at around 6 am on Monday morning, she came to know of the theft. After this, he lodged an FIR against unknown thieves at Shastri Nagar police station. Police collected necessary evidence on the spot. According to the police, this is the biggest theft of this year. Landlord Rakesh Kumar is a captain in the Merchant Navy and is posted in Hong Kong.
