Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Thursday announced in the Legislative Assembly that his government will provide financial assistance of one lakh rupees from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the families of those who lost their lives due to Corona infection.
At the same time, the rate of recovery from infection has now reached 63.18 percent, according to the Union Health Ministry. So far 7,82,606 patients have been cured. Currently, there are 3,56,439 infected patients. Infection cases in the country have increased to 12,38,635.
According to the Union Ministry of Health, coordinated efforts have helped in keeping the death rate at a low level. It is currently 2.41 percent. In the last 24 hours, the number of dead has increased to 29,861 with the death of 1129 people.
On the other hand, ICMR officials said that 1,50,75,369 samples have been tested till July 22, with 3,50,823 samples being tested on Wednesday. According to official figures, 10 lakh samples were tested in three days till Wednesday.
