Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) The Orissa High Court has started suo motu proceedings on pending cases against the former and sitting MPs and MLAs and their expeditious disposal.
A division bench of Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq and justice BR Sarangi has told advocate General Ak Parija to file an affidavit with details of criminal cases against former and current MPs and MLAs pending in courts across the state.
Last week, the Apex court passed a slew of direction to the chief justice of every high court to make sure expeditious disposal of pending criminal cases against the sitting MPs and MLAs. The directives also added the advice of chief Justices to personally to oversee such cases.
