(Pooja Dubey, Intern Journalist) A total of 1,013 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Pakistan on Tuesday, the lowest number in a day in the last two and a half months. With this, the total number of infected people in the country has reached 2,66,095.
According to the Ministry of National Health Service, after the death of 40 people from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the death toll from dangerous virus infection increased to 5,639. At the same time, 1,481 patients are in critical condition. 208,030 patients have become healthy in the country.
Pakistan has the highest number of 113,553 cases in Sindh province, 90,444 in Punjab, 32,243 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 14,625 in Islamabad, 11,441 in Balochistan, 1,922 in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, 1,868 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
This is the first time such a small number of infections have been reported in the country since May 2. In total 8,716 samples tested, 1,012 people were found infected.
