(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday said it was allowing cricketers and their families to accompany cricketers on tour to Australia. She said the decision was taken after senior cricketers demanded that family members be allowed on the two-and-a-half-month-long tour. An official statement is yet to be released. The BCCI initially opposed the move in the face of strict quarantine regulations.
Indian cricketers in the UAE for the IPL will go straight to Australia after the final. Some senior cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja, who have already been away from their families for over a month. It will take almost six months for the Aussies to return to India after their tour.
The BCCI has changed its mind. India will play 3 T20s, 3 ODIs, and 4 Tests in the bilateral series against Australia from November 27 to January 19.
