(Satya Havilah, Intern Journalist) Lucknow: Assembly Speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit has been petitioned to cancel the membership of MLA Mukhtar Ansari who is lodged in Ropar Jail in Punjab.
The petition has been filed by Sudhir Singh, a resident of Varanasi. He has said that Mukhtar is not attending any session of the Assembly or constitutional discussion. Being jailed for 10 years, he is unable to discharge his constitutional obligations. He has demanded to vacate the Sadar seat of Mau and hold elections.
