(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): On Tuesday, Delhi High Court chief justice D N Patel said that the physical hearings began in the HC will not be stopped, however, it would continue at a slow pace till the Covid pandemic situation is normalized.
Chief Justice said that “Once things have started in this high court, they are not going to be stopped. We will not start & close like the other high courts. We are of the opinion that we will not shut down physical hearings, but we will continue it slowly,”.
Despite several of his staff members have tested positive for Covid-19, Justice Patel was still holding physical Courts & hearing matters via video calls, he said. Justice Patel’s comments came after the council in one of the matters before his bench sought that the matter is listed on a date when virtual hearings are held.
