PM Modi and PM of Mauritius will jointly inaugurate

Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) Prime Minister of India and prime minister of Mauritius will jointly inaugurate the new supreme Court building of Mauritius on Thursday, July 30, 2020. The inauguration will be done through Video-Conferences in the presence of senior members of the judiciary from Mauritius and other officials from both the countries. The building was constructed with Indian grant assistance and it is first India assisted infrastructure project within the capital city of Port Louis after Covid

The new Supreme Court building project is one of the five projects being executed under the ‘Special Economic Package” of USD 353 million by the government of India to Mauritius in 2016. The project got complete within schedule and in expected costs.

The building is spread over an area of more than 4700 sqm with over 10 floors and built up around 25,000 sqm. The building is made of modern design. It also has green features that focus on thermal and sound insulation and high energy efficiency. This new building is expected to become one of the most important landmarks in the city. It will also be a symbol of a strong bilateral partnership between the two countries.
