New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today made an aerial tour of Odisha affected by the Amphan cyclone and announced advance assistance of Rs 500 crore to the state to fight this disaster. Apart from this, he also announced the help of two lakh rupees from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for those who died due to the cyclone and Rs 50,000 for the seriously injured.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Government of India proclaims advance assistance of Rs 500 crore for Odisha. In addition, after conducting an aerial survey of the areas affected by Amphan cyclone, PM Modi held a review meeting with senior officials and the state minister in Bhavneshwar. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, and Pratap Sarangi were also present in it.
Heavy destruction in West Bengal
So far 77 people have lost their lives in the state due to the cyclone. Infrastructure, public and private property have suffered extensive damage in North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Midnapore, Kolkata, Howrah, and Hooghly districts.
