(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through the Mann Ki Baat program. This was the 70th edition of the Mann Ki Baat program. PM Modi in his address today greeted the countrymen on Vijayadashami. Along with this, he also appealed to people to celebrate the festival carefully. Along with this, he appealed to people to take a pledge to promote Vocal for Local. During this, the PM also appealed to the people to light a lamp in the house for the brave soldiers of the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his address to the nation through the program of Mann Ki Baat with the wishes of Dussehra. PM Modi in his address today conveyed the best wishes to the countrymen on Vijayadashami. He carefully spoke about celebrating the festival. Prime Minister Modi said that today is the festival of Vijayadashami i.e. Dussehra. Happy Festival to all of you on this auspicious occasion.
He said that Dussehra is a festival of winning patience over crises. Today all of you are living with great restraint, celebrating festivals with restraint. So in the fight against COVID-19, we are fighting, victory is certain.

Prime Minister Modi said that when we talk about the festival, preparing, then the first thing that comes to mind is when to go to the market? He said that this time when you go shopping, remember your resolve of ‘Vocal for Local’. When purchasing goods from the market, we have to give priority to local products. He said that today when we are being vocal for Local, the world is also becoming a fan of our Local products. Many of our local products have huge power to be global. Prime Minister Modi said that in lockdown we have known those close to the society more closely without whom our life would have been very difficult. They were with you in difficult times, now we have to take them along in our happiness in our festivals.

PM Modi appealed to the people to light a lamp in the house for the brave soldiers of the country. With this, he remembered the brave soldiers. Prime Minister Modi said that we also have to remember our brave soldiers, who are stuck on the borders in these festivals too. India is serving and protecting Mother. We should also light a lamp in the house, in honor of the heroic sons and daughters of Mother India. Prime Minister Modi also spoke about Khadi during Mann Ki Baat. He said that the popularity of Khadi is increasing as well as Khadi is being made in many places in the world. One place in Mexico is ‘Oaxaca’. There are many villages in this area where local villagers work for weaving Khadi. The Prime Minister further said that this time on Gandhi Jayanti, more than one crore rupees were purchased in the Khadi store of Connaught Place, Delhi. Similarly, masks of Khadi are also becoming very popular in the time of Corona.

PM Narendra Modi said that when we are proud of our things, curiosity in the world also increases. Like our spirituality, yoga has attracted the whole world. Many of our sports are also attracting the world. Prime Minister Modi also remembered Sardar Patel during Mann Ki Baat. He said that on the 31st of October, we will all celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Ji as ‘National Unity Day’. He said that Sardar Patel devoted his entire life to solidarity. He was about to inculcate the mantra of unity in diversity in every Indian’s mind. He said that just imagine the image of the Iron Man who was talking to the princes, managing the mass movement of Pujya Bapu, as well as fighting the British.

I most respectfully pay my respects to her. The Prime Minister said today that on 31 October, we will also celebrate Valmiki Jayanti. I pay my respects to Maharishi Valmiki. The lofty ideals of Maharishi Valmiki continue to inspire millions. He is great hope for crores of poor and Dalits. PM Narendra Modi also remembered Ambedkar in Mann Ki Baat today. He said that in the last century, in our country we had writers like Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar who established unity among us through the Constitution.
