(Juhi Aishwary, Journalist): According to the Meteorological Department, the country’s financial capital Mumbai has received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Heavy rains are likely to continue over Konkan and Mumbai for the next few days. Light to moderate rains with one to two heavy spells over Konkan Goa, Northern Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Eastern areas of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep and Odisha Showers can fall.
During the next few hours, moderate to heavy rains may occur over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Terai regions of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar at some places.
Many rivers flowing above the danger mark in Bihar
In Bihar, the monitoring of their dams has been increased due to the water level of Bagmati, Lalbekiya, Kamla rivers constantly above the danger mark. Along with this, the dams of other rivers are also being constantly monitored. On Sunday, the protection wall built to install the sluice gate near Belwa Dhar in the right embankment of the Bagmati river in Shivhar district was cut off by the sharp edge of the river. However, there is no risk of flooding.
The water resources department says that there was a problem of seepage in the Lalbekiya river dam in Gowabari after the Indo-Nepal border. It has been fixed. Along with this, the river water was coming back to Kansar near the left embankment of the Bagmati River in Sitamarhi district and erosion of soil on Friday night. It has been fixed by doing protective work there.
