(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday sentenced the lawyer Prashant Bhushan, a convict, guilty of criminal contempt, to a judicial penalty of Rupees 1, due to his abusive tweet to the judiciary. At the same time, Prashant Bhushan said that he will pay the fine respectfully.
But he also reserves the right to file a review in this case. 3 members bench comprising justices Arun Mishra, B R Gavai, and Krishna Murari sentenced Convict Prashant Bhushan, saying that if the amount of one rupee off the fine will not be deposited by September 15, he will have to undergo three months imprisonment and plead for 3 years will be banned.
