Prayagraj: Phulpur Inspector and Daroga suspended for negligence in rape case

(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): On negligence in a woman related crime the detractors are coming under problem. After the suspension of two Deputy Superintendents of Police and two sub-inspectors for delving into deliberations in the gang-rape case at Meja police station in Prayagraj, the Inspector and Daroga of Phulpur police station have now been suspended by the DIG.  The case of rape case registered in Phulpur is going on in Allahabad High Court, where SSP and Phulpur Inspector are summoned.

 It is alleged that the rape victim, who is from the Phulpur police station area, pleaded to register the case.  If the report was not filed till July 30, he took refuge in the court.  The lawsuit was filed on 13 October as soon as the case reached the court.  In this case, the High Court reprimanded the officers of Prayagraj police.  The police officers were of the opinion that the victim’s application was sent to the police station by the SSP.  Despite this, no case was filed.

 The High Court has summoned Prayagraj SSP and Phulpur Inspector in this case and directed to fix accountability against the inspector.  In this sequence, the DIG suspended two policemen on Saturday night.  DIG Best Tripathi said that Inspector Brijesh Kumar and SI Pramod Kumar of Phulpur police station have been suspended on charges of gross insensitivity in a woman-related crime.
