(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist) Patna: The Municipal Corporation has started preparing for Chhath Puja from its level. A tender has been drawn for 95 ghats falling in the Corporations area. The work of preparing Chhath Ghats will start after the completion of the tender process. If Covid-19 still prevails in the month of November, then according to the situation, it will be decided to conduct Chhath Puja with social distancing. If the corona pandemic is controlled, then Chhath Puja will take place in the normal environment just like the previous year.
There are still two months left in Chhath Puja. It is in the third week of November. Facilities will be provided by the District Administration and Municipal Corporation. The corporation will provide better lighting at each ghat, barricade the ghats for protection of Chhath vratis, provision of drinking water and washrooms for men and women, cleaning the ghats and arranging proper changing rooms, arranging lights on roads that have access to the ghats, spraying bleaching powder on ghats, construction of watchtower, control room, etc.
The Municipal Commissioner will hold a review meeting, at the corporation level, for the preparation of Chhath Puja. Also, the situation arising out of coronavirus infection will be monitored.
