Considering the spread of corona, when lockdown initiated across the country and masks became mandatory, Sangeeta Saravanan decided that she would prepare and sell Ayurvedic masks made from turmeric, vetiver, or Khus roots.
Sangeeta, who hails from Mandeveli in Chennai, says, “I think masks should also have medicinal properties, so Vetiver masks are a great option for people to avoid corona.” Sangeeta is sourcing masks from a unit in Coimbatore and her masks are selling fast.
A cotton layer has been used in this mask, which you can use many times for four to five months. It costs Rs 150.
Uma Prajapati, the founder of Upasana in Puducherry, says she has started making neem and silver grid masks since the month of March. She said that she wanted to make more durable masks than disposable masks, so she started making neem-dyed cloth masks. This is the best detoxifying way to avoid viruses.
The worship also produced a silver grid mask. Silver is also known as a cleansing and energetic agent. She has made a special cloth mask woven with a grid of silver thread, Which will help to avoid the virus. Upasana said that the herbal mask costs Rs 100, while the silver mask costs Rs 150. Uma said that in the last two months she has sold ten thousand masks.
