(Dharshini.G,Intern journalist) TIRUCHY: A research center, which till as of now had a monopoly among private labs in leading Covid tests, was sealed on Monday for purportedly proclaiming negative cases as positive, delaying results and furthermore not following building guidelines.
Doctor’s Diagnostic Center (DDC), which has been working for a long time, was given endorsement in May to gather and test samples. Sources in the Health officials said the lab went under the scanner after a few people were pronounced positive and needed to take up treatment. An assessment was directed and notices served purportedly after it was discovered that examples were not being gathered appropriately. The lab was banished from conducting tests on July 25.
The lab was found to have given results of 29 patients following 20 days. Authority S Sivarasu said the lab transferred a negative outcome as positive on the ICMR site which created part of turmoil to the patient. He said that seven individuals have been given false results by the lab.
