(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Kyrgyzstan: People protesting the parliamentary election results in Kyrgyzstan became enraged on Tuesday. He vandalized the government and security headquarters in the early hours, attacking the country’s parliament. Not only this, but angry people also rescued former President Almazbek Atmayev from custody. President Soronbe Jeenbekov called this act an attempt to illegally occupy power by political forces. The President said that he still has control over the country and will strictly stop the rallies and protests going on in many cities across the country. At the same time, the protesters demand that the election results be canceled. However, the Central Election Commission on Tuesday rejected the results after considering their request. Meanwhile, the police dispersed late-night protests but the protesters returned to the central intersection of Bishkek and ransacked the presidential and parliament building. The building, known locally as the White House, also witnessed arson and explosions on Tuesday morning. Then some people freed former President Almazbek Atambayev from custody. He was sentenced to long jail terms on corruption charges.
