(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist) India; Rana Kapoor, founder of Yes bank and his family assets worth Rs 1400 crore, which includes properties in London, New York, and Mumbai were seized by the Enforcement Directorate today for the anti-money laundering law. Rs 1400 crore was also been seized from the properties of DHFL promoter brothers Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhawan under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Rana Kapoor and his family properties have a residential building and many flats in Mumbai. In Delhi they have a very expensive bungalow at Amrita Shergill Marg worth of Rs 685 crore was also being seized and the fixed deposit was seized by the agency worth of Rs 50 crore.

The agency had added bank deposits of Rs 115 crore of various companies of Rana Kapoor and seized all the jewelry cost of Rs 22.87 crore with seven luxury cars cost of Rs 12.58 crore which belongs to the Wadhawan family.

The agency has accused Rana Kapoor including his family members and others using Yes bank to extend big loans with an exchange for kickbacks which led the bank to perform as non-performing assets (NPA).

The Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation have filed charge sheets during May and June collectively against Rana Kapoor and his family.

Rana Kapoor, 62, his wife with three daughters are in the 13 accused named by the CBI in the spiraling investigation for bribery and money-laundering linked to Yes Bank, many raids were held in locations linked to the Rana Kapoor and his family. Rana Kapoor who was arrested in March was currently in judicial custody.
