Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) Indian women’s hockey team captain Rani Rampal has decided to dedicate her award to the front line workers Fighting Covid-19. “I have seen senior players playing and it has always inspired me to do something for the country so, I would like to dedicate this award to our Corona warriors, who are working to keep all of us safe, said Rampal
Rani Rampal at the age of fifteen played in the 2010 world cup. She was the youngest player in the National team. Rampal is the first-ever woman hockey player to be honored with this award. However, it was not an easy journey for her ” Being a woman athlete. I belong to Haryana, comparing the present times to when I was growing up girls faced a lot of problems.” She said.
Talking about the popularity of hockey, she says, “People are moving towards hockey but we need more support. Support from people means a lot to us, it will help us keep going and achieve bigger feats.
