(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Lucknow: Two lakh 78 thousand electricity consumers of the capital Lucknow will get the facility to deposit as soon as the bill is made. The system of real-time billing is being implemented in seven power blocks of Lesa from December 7. Meter readers sometimes transfer data after one or two days after making an electricity bill. Due to this reason, consumers are not able to deposit money as soon as the bill is made. Many times, if the meter reader has made more bills, then the consumers reach the concerned sub-center immediately and submit the bill on the basis of meter reading themselves. Due to this, the data of the meter reader cannot be fed. So far, real-time billing was introduced in July in the Raj Bhavan division of Lesa. According to departmental officials, the number of bill submissions has increased since the new system was introduced.
Bills have been facilitated in the Aishbagh, Residency, Munshipulia, Gomtinagar, Chinhat, Daliganj, and Sitapur Road divisions of Lesa. Here, consumers can deposit money as soon as a bill is created.
This type of arrangement will ease consumers. Power Corporation MD M. Devaraj said that real-time billing is currently happening in the Town Hall section. It is now starting on December 5. Smart billing app has been uploaded in mobile of all meter readers.
