(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): Back in May this year Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 9 globally. Now the company is ready to bring its popular smartphone of the Redmi Note series to India. Xiaomi launches the next generation smartphone Redmi Note 9 in India on July 20th.
The phone will be launched on July 20 through an online event, starting at 12 pm. Xiaomi will stream the event live on its website in India. The company also broadcasts the case on its official Facebook and YouTube platforms. “The #UndisputedChampion, our next #MadeInIndia smartphone arrives on 20th July at 12 noon! Packed with best in class specs and highest quality that’s sure to make heads turn,” the company tweeted.
With regards to features and specs, the Redmi Note 9 comes with a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with a Gorilla Glass 5 security cover. The global phone version is powered by the Helio G85 processor from MediaTek, combined with up to 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage.
Globally, Redmi Note 9 is available in storage variants of 3 GB RAM + 64 GB, and 4 GB RAM + 128 GB. But now, a new report says Xiaomi could launch the phone in 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage space, and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage space variants, similar to the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
The Indian version of Redmi Note 9 will get a 48-megapixel main camera + 8-megapixel ultra-wide – angle lens + 2-megapixel macro lens + 2-megapixel depth camera configuration. The handset has a 13-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Additionally, a 5.020mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging technology will back up the unit.
