(Manisha Mahar, Intern Journalist); French automobile company Renault India (Reno India) launched its new car Kwid RXL 1.0 (Kwid RXL) variant in India. The company has introduced this car with two versions manual and automatic. With the launch of the new Kwid RXL 1.0, the company has announced that it has sold over 3.5 lakh units of the Kwid. Even after several years of its launch, the Kwid is quite popular in India’s entry-level hatchback car segment and accounts for a large share of Reno India’s sales
Engine
The Kwid RXL variant will now be available in both 0.8-liter and 1.0-liter powertrains. The new 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine generates 67 bhp of power and 91 Nm of torque. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmission options. Until now, this engine was available only in Kwid’s top variants RXL and CLIMBER. The other is a 0.8-liter petrol engine. This engine generates 53bhp of power and 72Nm of torque. This engine only gets a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Features
Talking about the features of the Kwid RXL, it includes a 20.32 cm (8.0-inch) touchscreen MediaNAV Evolution, first-in-class LED digital instrument cluster, floor console AMT dial, one-touch lane change indicator, speed-dependent volume control and includes 279 liters boot space. Talking about safety features, Kwid RXL variant get standard features like driver-side airbags, ABS, EBD, seat-belt reminder, speed alert system, and rear parking sensors. It will also be available in the cheapest model of the car.
Cost
The manual version of the Kwid RXL variant costs Rs 4.16 lakh and the AMT version costs Rs 4.88 lakh.
