(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: Republic TV CEO Vikas Khanchandani has been arrested. Recently, the case of the TRP rigging case filed by the Mumbai Police has been made. Let us tell you that earlier senior journalist Arnab Goswami was also arrested by Mumbai Police in an old case. However, he was later granted bail by the court. Republic TV distribution head Ghanshyam Singh was arrested earlier in the alleged fake TRP (Television Rating Point) case. The magistrate sent Ghanshyam Singh to police custody till 13 November.
Before the arrest of Vikas Khanchandani, 12 people have been arrested by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police. The TRP scam was revealed last month when the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) filed a complaint through Hansa Research Group alleging that some channels were manipulating the TRP figures.
