RBI has banned HDFC Bank from issuing new credit cards. RBI has asked the bank to stop digital business activities under the program Digital 2.0, as well as the proposed business IT application.
During the last two years, there have been many cases related to HDFC Bank’s internet banking, mobile banking, and payment utility. This includes the problem of internet banking and payment system in the primary data center due to power cuts on 21 November 2020.
Reserve Bank (RBI) has said in its order that the Board of HDFC Bank should look into such mistakes and decide the responsibility for them.
