Rihai Manch General Secretary Rajeev Yadav said that Hakim Tariq Kasami’s mother had never recovered from the shock of her son’s arrest. There were many occasions before the lower courts sentenced him to life imprisonment which had set the hopes of his release, but she was further shattered after the verdict.
The forum general secretary said that in 2012, the Nimesh Commission, constituted to investigate the veracity of Hakim Tariq Kasami, termed his arrest as illegal and recommended action against the convicted police officers. Apart from this, investigative journalist Ashish Khaitan had claimed on the basis of documents of interrogating suspects by the investigating agencies of various states that all the alleged accused HUJI who was accused of the blasts are guiltless and the investigating agencies are also aware of this truth.
Rajiv Yadav said that Ashish Khaitan had also filed a letter petition to this effect with documentary evidence in the Allahabad High Court in view of the malfeasance of the UP ATS but it wasn’t taken into due consideration.
He said that his mother had high hopes of her son getting justice from the High Court but she had neither patience nor power to wait. Her death cannot be considered natural. This is the result of repeated injuries by the system.
