(Bhagya Luxmi, Intern Journalist) In the wake of rising tensions with China, the government of India finally directed on the roads in the border regions. In a meeting with the Union Home Secretary on Friday, the Uttarakhand state will raise the demand for improving the standards of road construction, maintenance, and reconstruction in the border locations.
On Thursday, Chief Secretary Omprakash said that there is neutrality on the state-bound China border, but given the circumstances, there is a great need to improve the road network in the border regions.
For this, the government will be sought to simplify the standards of road construction. He said that a network of roads would be laid along the international borders so that the Indian Army could reach the spot immediately in an emergency.
The Chief Secretary said that a special protocol has also been chalked out for the maintenance of roads. He said that the condition of roads would be enhanced soon.
