( Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist ) : Congress leader Sachin Pilot was removed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan on Tuesday and was announced by party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala in his place as head of the state unit.
The action came after Congress did not participate in the second round of meetings called to discuss the political crisis in the state. Several senior Congress leaders had reached Pilot since Sunday to resolve the faceoff with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Surjewala said that Pilot loyalists Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena have also been removed as ministers in the Gehlot government. In addition, Govind Singh Dotasra has been appointed as Rajasthan PCC chief in place of the pilot, the Congress spokesperson reported.
