(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist) The Supreme Court on 14th July has refused the plea filed by Baba Rampal of Haryana, the parole for attending the wedding of his granddaughter’s for 15th July.
The bench includes Chief Justice SA Bobde and Justice R Subhash Reddy and AS Bopanna was hearing a special grant petition filed by Rampal, seeking suspension of interim for a duration of a week on the granddaughter wedding which held on 15th July. The plea filed after the refusal from the High Court of Punjab and Haryana.
Rampal submitted that his son was granted an interim suspension of sentence for the duration of three weeks from 1st July to 21st July by the High Court as he has to perform several rituals on his daughter’s marriage so he also requests a similar relief as he was the grandfather of Tamanna. Being the grandparent he has to perform several rituals, so his presence in the marriage is necessary, submitted Rampal.
Rampal was sentenced for life imprisonment in the charge of two murder cases. The charge against him was filed after the arrest, he was arrest by the police on the connection of another murder case but several days of arrest charge of murder was filed against him. He was arrested in his Rampal satlok’s Asharam were women found murdered in the Asharam and a woman and infant died in hospital.
