New Delhi: Denying the 4G service reinstatement case in Jammu and Kashmir, the Supreme Court on Monday also ordered the formation of a High Powered Committee to look into the controversies raised by various petitioners. The committee will be headed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Justice NV Ramana, who is hearing the case, said that the balance between National Security and Human Rights will have to be decided by the court.
The committee constituted by the court will also have the Chief Secretary and Communications Secretary of the state administration. This panel will look into the demands of the petitioners. Justices NV Ramana, Subhash Reddy, and BR Gavai have reserved judgment on these petitions on the bench hearing the case.
The court heard the petitions related to the restoration of 4G Internet services in Jammu and Kashmir. These petitions claimed that 2 G services are not sufficient for the present situation. These services are hampering the operation of education and other services here. On April 30, the administration told the Supreme Court that Internet access was not included in the fundamental rights, so the government could ban the interaction through the Internet.
Please tell that the media and health workers here are also demanding 4G internet facility. They say that due to lack of adequate internet service, the doctors here are deprived of the latest resources being adopted for medicine.
As per the order issued by the Jammu and Kashmir administration on April 27, the lockdown will continue here till May 11. According to the Ministry of Health, the total number of infected people in Jammu and Kashmir so far is 861. At the same time, 383 people have become healthy and 9 people have died.
