Researchers at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, US, said the change protects the host cell’s immune response to NSP10. According to the researchers, understanding the 3D structure of NSP16 may open the way for the new drug to be prepared against new coronavirus SARS-COV-2 and other emerging coronavirus infections.
They stated that these drugs can be designed in such a way that prevent NSP16 from changing so that the host cell’s immune system identifies and attacks the external virus.
