(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Hathras: Advocate Seema Kushwaha, who fought Nirbhaya’s case and awarded the death sentence to the convicts, reached Hathras on Thursday. She wanted to meet the victim’s family, but she clashed with the administration. Seema Kushwaha, the lawyer for the Nirbhaya case going to Hathras ‘daughter’s house, has a sharp altercation with Hathras’ ADM at the police barricading outside the victim’s village.
Amidst the escalation, Seema Kushwaha told the ADM that rapes happen because of people like you, so ADM JP Singh did not turn back and delayed to say that people like you are raped. Seema Kushwaha said that the family of the victim of the Hathras gang-rape had called me. Seema Kushwaha said, ‘The victim’s family wants me to fight this case as their lawyer. But the administration is not allowing me to meet the family. The administration is saying that this will deteriorate law and order.”
