On Tuesday, the stock market saw good gains due to strong domestic cues such as good GST collections and an uptick in Asian markets. The Sensex climbed 505.72 points to close at a record high of 44,655.44. The previous record level at closing was on November 24, when the Sensex closed at 44,523.02. The Sensex’s highest level so far is 44,825.37, but the figure for November 25 is intra-day.

Nifty record level: On Tuesday, the Nifty index also climbed 140.10 points to close at the record level of 13,109.05 for the first time. Earlier on November 24, the index closed at 13,055.15. However, the index’s highest level is 13,145.85, which was made on November 25 in intra-day. Auto and IT shares were led by the market rally on Tuesday. The Nifty Auto, IT, and Metal indices gained over 1-1%.
Market Cap: Total market cap of listed companies in BSE also crossed a record 176.26 lakh crore rupees. Earlier, it reached 157.90 lakh crore rupees on 30 October. That is, since then, the total market cap has increased by Rs 18.36 lakh crore.
State-owned GAIL’s shares have closed up 8% in the Nifty. Shares of Sun Pharma and IndusInd Bank closed up 5-5 percent. Tech Mahindra’s stock also closed up 4%. At the same time, Nestle India shares closed down 2%. Shares of Amara Raja Batteries in the Auto Index have also closed down 2%. The BSE Sensex opened 286.11 points up at 44,435.83 and the Nifty opened 93.25 points up at 13,062.20.
About 62% of companies on the BSE rose in shares
The market cap of BSE was Rs 176.22 lakh crore.
Shares of 3,072 companies were traded. In this, shares of 1,923 companies rose and shares of 976 companies declined.
Shares of 237 companies were at 1-year highs and shares of 42 companies were at one-year lows.
The upper circuit was held in 432 companies and the lower circuit in 204 companies.
State of Asian markets
Today, Japan’s Nikkei index closed at 26,727, up 353 points in Asian markets. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index gained 167 points to close at 26,508. In addition, the Shanghai Composite Index of China has also gained 1.77% to close at 3,451.
Selling in american markets
US markets declined on Monday. The Dow Jones Index was down 271.73 points at 29,638.60, down 0.91%. The Nasdaq was down 7 points at 12,198.70. The S&P 500 index was also down 0.46%, down 16.72 points at 3,621.63.
