Setting up plants for global telecom has become hard

(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist) India; The telecom department has planned the production- linked incentive scheme of the telecom network equipment in order to increase the local production. It is facing the hurdle, as the company is hesitating to commit Rs 500-700 crore which is needed to set up the plants, said by the people familiar with the issue.

As the incentive scheme was good which has attracted companies like Apple and Samsung, taking companies such as Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung but providing money is hard, looking to the weak Indian state and global telecom market, which do depend on 5G for big growth.

The government scheme for telecom is very interesting for the makers of telecom equipment makers but they have to coax more. They already have plants at the country, but for growth, they need capitals of Rs 500-700 crore, with the land.

Chinese companies Huawei and ZTE are not sure about their future in India, due to the tensions between India-China.
