(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist) Patna: The Rivers of the state continue to grow due to heavy rains in North Bihar and Nepal. Kosi, Bagmati, Kamla, Balan, Lalbakeya, Adhwara, Mahananda and Ghaghra are flowing above the danger mark in many places. The Ganges is still well below the red mark.
According to the report of the Water Resources Department, the water level of Kamla has increased considerably in Jhanjharpur. This river is flowing about two and a half meters above the red mark there. Water pressure has started increasing in the dam as well. Engineers of the department are engaged in flood fighting day and night. In Jayanagar, this river is flowing up to 95 cm.
According to the report of the department, the discharge of Kosi has reached 1.94 lakh cubic meters in 12 regions. The Baraj also maintains its stance. The rivers discharge has reached 2.46 lakh cubic meters there.
Bagmati has risen above the red mark at five places in Sitamarhi and one place in Muzaffarpur. The river is upstream at Sonkhan and Dubadhar of Sitamarhi. This river is well above the red mark in Benibad of Muzaffarpur. Lalbakeya also crossed the red mark in east Champaran on Saturday. This river is 1.37 meters up there. Kosi is also a danger mark in Baltara and has gone above 113 cm. Apart from this, Ghaghra in Saran, Adhwara in Sitamarhi and Mahananda in Kishanganj and Purnia is still flowing above the red mark.
