(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara entered the global discussion on racism and discrimination on Wednesday. He spoke about how a person can be exploited racially in other ways as well.
“Skin color isn’t the only basis of discrimination. There are various ways of racism and discrimination. If you take Black Lives Matter if you take racism and discrimination in the world, I think one of the most important things is to teach our children history as it should be, and not the sanitized version of it, so you only see the positives.” he said.
Former India pacer Irfan Pathan also said last month that a person could face bigotry and discrimination depending on his/her faith. “Racism is not restricted to the color of the skin. Not allowing to buy a home in society just because u have a different faith is a part of racism too,” Pathan wrote on Twitter.
