(Rishika Iyer, Intern Journalist): A new study conducted by Kings College, London claims that skin rash is another symptom of the novel coronavirus. According to an app named COVID, Symptom Study App created for the citizens of the United Kingdom, it was found upon research that one in every five people developed a mild rash and then tested positive. It was observed in many people that the rash was the only symptom they experienced.
Upon finding these results, citizens were asked to self isolate themselves if they developed a rash. The main symptoms apart from this however remains cough, fever and loss of taste and smell. One quarter of Britishers said that fatigue and headache were their most common symptoms.
An online survey was also conducted in which about 12,000 people reported skin rashes as the symptom with images and other information for the study. This survey concludes that 17% of the people reported rash as their first symptom and 21% of the people reported it as their only symptom.
