(Harleen Kaur, Intern Journalist) The weather is also showing its many colors to the world engaged in the Covid-19 epidemic. While the possibility of more snowfall and cold is expected this time, the stormy cyclone coming in the months of October and November will be absent. Like every year, the meteorological department kept preparing for the rescue from the cyclone in October, but this year it did not come. On the other hand, where an area of low pressure (depression) is formed twice every year, in the year of this year, it was faced thrice. The meteorological department is eyeing this change.
Director of Indian Meteorological Department (Indian Meteorological Department), Dr. Mritunjay Mahapatra says that this is not the first time. In the last 40 years, there have been 19 such occasions when the cyclonic storm did not come in the month of October, but becoming a low-pressure area three times is a different kind of change. Due to this, the departure of the monsoon this year was also delayed. In the months of October 2013 and 2014, severe cyclones “Feline” and “Hudhud” came. Both these storms caused great destruction in the coastal areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Scientists had speculated this year too, but it did not come. If we look at the data, on 18 percent occasions the estimates of the Meteorological Department have proved to be wrong.
