(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist) Uttar Pradesh; The State Sugarcane Administration has informed the sugarcane arrears soon. They have given a strict warning to sugar mills which belongs to the Bajaj, Modi, Simbhaoli, and the Yadu groups to give the payment to the sugarcane growers, and who fails to do so will face severe action. 119 sugar mills in UP have owed Rs 9,000 crore in cane price arrears to the farmers. According to Sanjay R Bhoosreddy, Principal Secretary of Sugar industry and cane development, the mills of these four named groups have sluggish in dues clearing, and so carry heavy liabilities to farmers.
The mills were also asked to complete the seasonal repair and maintenance work.
