(Pooja Dubey, Intern Journalist) Bharti Airtel chief Sunil Bharti Mittal’s salary package declined by three percent to Rs 30.13 crore. A decrease in the company’s share price and other benefits reduced the package.
As chairman of Bharti Airtel Limited, Mittal’s salary allowance was Rs 31 crore in 2018-19. The main reason for the decrease in their real wages is the basic incidence of share prices and other benefits.
Mittal’s basic salary was Rs 26.97 crore in 2019-20, which is the same as last year. However, the value of perquisites provided to him under Section 17 (2) of the Income Tax Act has come down to Rs 99.8 lakh from Rs 1.87 crore in the previous year.
His retirement perquisites are also stable at Rs 2.15 crore. Mittal was appointed chairman of the company again on October 1, 2016, for a five-year term.
