On Wednesday, on the issue of demonstration in Shaheen Bagh, the Supreme Court said in its big and verdict that it is not right to protest in public places. This violates the rights of the general public. The court has said that no protesting group or person can create barriers in public places just under the pretext of protests and cannot block public places.

Significantly, against the CAA and NRC, protesters were sitting on a dharna after occupying the main road in Shaheen Bagh for almost 100 days. Advocate Amit Sahni and former Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Nandkishore Garg filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this protest.

In April, security forces removed the ongoing protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Citizenship Register at Shaheen Bagh in South Delhi from December 15.
