(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina said on Tuesday that he was happy to work for the development of sports in Jammu and Kashmir. Raina met Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha and thanked him for his continued support.

Raina, who said goodbye to international cricket on August 15, shared the pictures on social media, in which he is seen alongside Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha. On this occasion, he also gave a bat to Sinha.

The ardent batsman, who represented Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, on Monday met Jammu and Kashmir Principal Secretary Nitish Kumar, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. He also discussed the initiative of setting up sports academies to train young cricketers from far-flung areas of the union territory.

He also met Sinha last month and requested him to set up a cricket academy in Jammu and Kashmir. He also agreed to open schools in Kashmir and Jammu to impart training in professional cricket to local youth.
