(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Mathura: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has reduced the speed limit on the expressway by two months. If the vehicle runs at a speed of more than 75 km per hour by February 15, the e-challan will reach the address of the vehicle owner. Syed Rafi Ahmed Rizvi, Project Operations Manager, Expressway, told that after stopping big vehicles at night toll, their driver and helper are being given free tea so that they do not feel tired.
The Yamuna Expressway Development Authority and the local administration make all efforts to ensure that there are at least accidents on the Yamuna Expressway during the winter season. The driver does not appear to follow the guidelines made to drive the vehicle on the expressway. Accidents have been caused due to fog and haze in winter due to tire burst in summer. This time the Yamuna Expressway Authority has taken tough decisions to protect the lives and property of the people, Yamuna Authority has ordered that no vehicle will run at a speed of more than 75 km per hour till 15 February. If anyone is found violating the speed limit, then e-challan will be deducted and sent to his address. Syed Rafi Ahmed Rizvi, Project Operations Manager of Expressway, said that he has received orders from Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEDA) in this regard on Saturday. He informed that traffic police and toll outpost police have been informed to comply with the order.
Rizvi said that reflector stickers are being installed on Yamuna Expressway by stopping vehicles, while reflectors have also been installed on the road. He told that after stopping big vehicles at night on toll, their driver and helper are being given free tea so that they do not feel tired. Also, the drivers are being explained how to drive in the fog through the sound amplifiers installed on the toll.
