(Rishitha Jaladi, Intern Journalist)Tamil Nadu: Prabhakaran, an IAS officer of Tirunelveli, got married recently. He tied a knot to Krishna Bharathi, a doctor earning in lacks. The only Dowri, he asked before getting married is, asked his wife, to provide free medical services, to the villagers.
Prabhakaran was from a small village named, in Tanjavur district. This village doesn’t even have basic facilities. Coming from a family with an agricultural background and father being an alcoholic, Prabhakaran always used to dream big to become successful in life. He was inspired by his mother, who used to work as a daily laborer.
He also went for work while studying till Intermediate. later, it was very difficult for his family to survive as their financial status is low. He had to quit his studies, started working in a Timber Depo. Interested in studies, Prabhakaran wrote EAMCET after two years and got a free seat in a Government college. He took a small room for rent and went to college. After college hours, He used work in a Cell point to earn bread for a living.
He got to know of free Civils coaching classes provided to poor students in Chennai. But he can’t quit college and shift to Chennai. Hence he attended college, for the first five days in a week, and in the weekends he traveled all the way to Chennai for Civils coaching.
In Chennai, the cost of living is too high and he couldn’t pay for a night stay at a hotel, hence slept of platforms, which were stinking and filthy. He survived for a year in the same way and finally cleared the USPSC Civils in his fourth attempt, after completing his MTech from IIT Madras receiving a scholarship.
Now, his wife, Krishna Bharathi, a doctor accepted his request and providing free medical services to their own villagers during the weekend. The couple stood exemplary to all.
