(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist): New species are appearing from time to time in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve which is famous for tigers. Now, the First time Eulophia Obtuse Orchid is seen. There is all around pleasure in Nature lovers after seeing the white and pink beautiful flowers. Chief Officer of National Forest Service, Ramesh Pandey, tweeted,” There is a search of Dudhwa.
According to available flower records, Orchid ie Eulophia Obstuse is first seen in the lowland.” This orchid is seen by FD Sanjay Kumar, Fajrool Rehman, and Mudit Gupta, Docter of WWF-India when they were visiting the field. There is no reliable data is available to see it in India and Nepal. However, it has only three collections of 1902 in Kew Herbarium of the internationally important Botanical research and education Institute. It shows how rare this species is. It is considered very important to see it in the Dudhwa tiger reserve. There is a report of Eulophia appearing in Bangladesh it too has destroyed its natural habitat there. In the red list of IUCN, this is a critically endangered species. It needs special operations to save it from extinction.
