Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): The Delhi High Court on Thursday decided to limit its functioning as well as district courts to urgent cases till August 14 in view of the prevailing COVID-19 epidemic. Earlier, the High Court had restricted its functioning and the district courts till 31 July. In an office order issued by Registrar General Manoj Jain, the Administrative and General Supervision Committee of the High Court headed by Chief Justice DN Patel decided that the functioning would be banned till August 14.
The courts of the registrar and joint registrar of this court will take up the cases listed before them through video conferencing. However, the evidence will be recorded only in pre-partisan and uncontested cases where tendering is required through a single affidavit, ”the official order said.
