(Satya Havilah, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to journalist Arnab Goswami, who was arrested on charges in an interior designer suicide case. The Supreme Court commented that how the High Court had acted in this case was incorrect.

The High Court held that how it had acted in the matter of personal liberty was not correct. Justice Chandrachud made foremost remarks on the subject of this case. If he does not watch the channel, he should not watch it. He also said that he doesn’t watch the channel. But the issue of personal freedom is different. The state government has slammed the Maharashtra government for not targeting such people.

Justice Chandrachud said that by doing so, we are sending the fact that there is a Supreme Court through this judgment. Earlier, the apex court had asked senior lawyer Kapil Sibal, who had heard arguments on behalf of the Maharashtra government in the case, a barrage of questions.
Feroze Sheikh and Nitish Sarda, along with Arnab Goswami, were arrested by Maharashtra police on November 4 and remanded in judicial custody in connection with a suicide case. On November 9, the Bombay High Court refused to grant bail to Goswami, and he approached the Supreme Court. However, he was granted bail in the Supreme Court.
