(Bhagya Luxmi, Intern Journalist) There is good news about Vaccine research in the country. The Union Health Ministry has informed on Wednesday that a pneumonia vaccine has been developed in the country. The special thing is that the entire development of this vaccine has been done in our country.

The ministry said that this first vaccine of pneumonia developed fully in the country has also got approval from DGCI, the Drug Controller of India.

The first, second, and third phase data of the clinical trial were made available to DCGI by the Pune-based company Serum Institute of India with the help of the Special Expert Committee (SEC). The DGCI reviewed the data and after that, allowing the introduction of the ‘Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine Vaccine’ in the market.

Let me tell you that this vaccine will be injected. The ministry said that this vaccine will be used on a large scale to protect against pneumonia.

The Serum Institute of India had received approval from DCGI to conduct the first, second, and third stage clinical trials of the vaccine in India. It was also tried in the Gambia. After completing all the phases of the trial, the company sought permission to make and sell the vaccine.

The Ministry said that the Special Expert Committee had advised allowing the production and sale of vaccines. Based on this, on July 14, the Serum Institute of India Private Limited was allowed.
