(Harleen Kaur, Intern Journalist)Deoria: On Friday, the villagers themselves came forward against this illegal business when the police were not serious about the raw liquor being prepared on the banks of the Gandak River in Kushari in the police station area. The villagers chased down the occupants with the breaking of the burning kiln. Apart from destroying the holding raw liquor and handed it over to the police. Villagers protested at the crossroads demanding the arrest of the accused.

The raw liquor kilns have been burning on the banks of the Choti Gandak river for many days, every day crowds of alcoholic drinkers throng the villagers. In the morning hundreds of villagers, led by village head Nizam Ansari and Hiuva leader Surendra Chaurasia, reached the banks of the Gandak River with a rung and started breaking the furnace. Seeing the anger of the villagers, the businessmen involved in making raw liquor fled. For about two hours, the villagers destroyed the raw liquor furnace, iron, and equipment. Station head Ghanshyam Singh said that efforts were on to arrest the accused. Will be arrested soon.
