Driving license – RC retention tension will end. Shopkeepers will not be able to sell old sweets. TCS will also be deducted from sending money out of the country from 1 October. Also, there are going to be changed in other rules including banking and motor vehicles. Many rules are changing from 1 October including the Motor Vehicle Rules, LPG, and Ujjwala Yojana. In such a situation, it is important that you know about them in advance.

  • The government has become tight-lipped about the open sweets sold in the market.
    Now the sweet shopkeeper will have to give a time limit for its use. Consumers will have to inform the time limit of how long the sweets will be used. Food regulator FSSAI has made it mandatory from 1 October 2020. FSSAI has made it mandatory for customers to sell food items to display the deadline on open sweets from 1 October as part of fixing food safety.
  • Buying TV from October 1 will also become expensive. The government has decided to revoke the 5 percent customs duty on open cell imports used in TV manufacturing. For this, the government had given a one-year exemption, which will expire on September 30. This will increase the price of 32 inch TVs by Rs 600 and 42-inch prices by Rs 1,200 to 1,500. So buying a TV from October 1 is bound to be expensive.
  • At the beginning of every month, government companies revise the price of LPG and Natural Gas. The price of 14.2 kg and 19 kg of gas cylinders was reduced in September. It is expected that LPG prices may come down in October. In the festive season, the government would like to give its benefits to the consumers. This is the reason why LPG prices are expected to decrease in October.
  • The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has given information to amend the motor vehicle regulations. After this, from now on October 1, essential vehicle documents like licenses, registration documents, fitness certificates, permits, etc. can be maintained through the government-run web portal. Now you can run the work by showing a digital copy. Records of offenses such as e-challan including suspension, compounding, and revocation of licenses and registration will also be available on this web portal.
  • The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that mobile or other handheld devices can be used while driving from 1 October. But it should be used only to see the root. Along with this, care should also be taken that the driver is not distracted while driving using a mobile. However, a fine of 1 thousand to 5 thousand rupees can be imposed for talking to mobile while driving.
  • The term of the free gas cylinder under the Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme of the government’s popular scheme ends on 30 September 2020. The government provides free LPG connections to the poor under this scheme. Due to Corona, free cylinders were also given under this scheme. Its date was extended from April to September. On October 1, non-subsidized LPG cylinders and commercial gas rates will also be revised.
  • The central government has made a new rule related to collecting taxes on sending money abroad. In such a situation, if you send money to your child studying abroad or help a relative financially, then you will have to pay an additional 5% tax collected at source (TCS) on the amount. According to the Finance Act, 2020, under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS) of the Reserve Bank of India, the person sending money abroad will have to pay TCS. Under the LRS, you can send up to $ 2.5 million annually, which does not attract any tax. TCS will have to be given to bring it under the tax net.
  • The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that it has issued a notification regarding all the amendments made in the Motor Vehicles Rules 1989, which include vehicles related to the portal from October 1, 2020, to better monitor and enforce the Motor Vehicles Rules. Documents and e-challan can be maintained. Under the new rules, you will not need more documents to get a driving license now. The central government has eased rules to get DL created.
  • There is going to be a major change in the health insurance policy under the rules of insurance regulator IRDAI. More diseases cover will be available at an affordable rate under all existing and new health insurance policies from 1 October. This change is being made to make the health insurance policy standardized and customer-centric. It also includes many other changes. The Insurance Regulatory Authority IRDAI (IRDAI) changed the rules that would benefit people. Apart from this, companies will not be able to reject the claim on their own.
  • Bank customers now get non-financial services like sitting at home checks, demand drafts, pick up pay orders. Apart from picking up the tax on FD interest, forms 15G and 15H to be deposited, income tax or GST challan as well as the facility of delivery of account statement request, term deposit receipt, are also made available to customers homes. Financial services will now be available at home from October 2020, after the launch of the Dostep banking service.
