(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist)Washington: Are you crazy about watching English movies? Do you watch popular English movie channels HBO, WB? However, your shocking news is that Warner Media will be shutting down these two channels in India, Pakistan, Maldives, and Bangladesh from the end of this year.

Although Warner Media has been broadcasting these channels in South Asia for many years, it has struggled to establish a sustainable market here. It costs four to five dollars to get a subscription to HBO and WB TV channels. In India, however, it costs only two dollars.

However, the number of viewers of these channels is very low compared to other countries. Now that online platforms like OTT platforms, Disney Heart star, and Netflix are available, no one is much interested in watching these channels.

As their survival became difficult, Warner Media decided to shut down HBO and WB channels from December 15. However, Warner Media has stated that it will continue its cartoon network and pogo channels in India, as well as broadcast international CNN.
